Last
Wednesday and Thursday, 5th level used a microscopeto observe onion cells
during our science lesson. We could also compare a traditional microscope with
a modern one which was connected to the smart board.
Sixth graders had a
science experiment. We wanted to find out how yeast carries out the process of
nutrition. We used 3 empty bottles, some yeast, some warm water and some sugar.
The process we followed was:
First, we
labeled the bottles (one with yeast and water, one with yeast and sugar and one
with yeast, water and sugar.
Then we
filled in the three bottles.
Next, we
put a balloon on top of each bottle.
After waiting some time….
What happened? Which balloon had inflated the most? Why? How does yeast carry
out the function of nutrition?
We are happy to announce that we have Sinead with us.
She came from Manchester to help us with oral activities in English. She’ll be
here from October to May and she’ll be working with all the groups.
Estem
